The only time that a player has literally died on the field was in 1971, when Chuck Hughes collapsed and died of a heart attack. I hope that this is not happening again. o

I just heard that he was in critical condition !!! That sounds great, because I presume that that means that he is not dead !!! o

He had a cardiac arrest, not a heart attack. They got him breathing on the field, quick work by team medical staff may be the difference in his recovery. Read article group, answers some questions. Darryl Stingly played for the Pats (?) was paralyzed on the field back in the 1970’s, is what i remember as a kid
