THE announcer (Troy Aikman) IS WRONG ........ he is continually harping on the 49ers for not using a timeout prior to the punt, which would have saved about 35 or 40 seconds. But the Chiefs were at midfield, and they might have pinned the 49ers deep inside their own 5 yardline with the punt. The ball bounced into the end-zone for a touch-back, but the 49ers DID NOT KNOW THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AHEAD OF TIME ....... they would have been in deep shit if they had used the timeout, had to start the drive from inside their own 5 yardline, and the Chiefs still having all 3 of their time-outs left.
