ESPN's NFL Power Index is different than their Power Ranking ...... and after looking at it, I believe that it may be a more accurate indicator of where teams are at than their Power Rankings. The Kansas City Chiefs, with a record of 5-4, are ranked #1 ...... and I am OK with that. I've been saying that I believe that the Colts' biggest potential obstacle in the AFC playoffs this year are the Chiefs, and I hope that we won't have to play them until the conference championship game (if at all.) There are more interesting tidbits, especially when comparing them to the Power Rankings ...... for example, the Power Index has the 3-5 Baltimore Ravens at #8, while the Power Rankings has that same team at # 19. ) ...... ) and the Carolina Panthers, with a 5-4 overall record and coming off of a big win over the Green Bay Packers on their homefield in eastern Wisconsin, are ranked #25 in the Power Index.
