Our entire offensive line is returning and you never know when one of them might retire. Better to plan on that possibility when there is no immediate need at corner. Ballard is too sharp to be tricked into signing a solid talent in free agency when he could roll the dice on a mid-late round talent. Bravo for the gutsy move Chris. If it should work out, which I'm sure it will, it will prove there is no room for a top 10 corner on this team. Better get back to the draft. Round 5 is coming up and there should be some solid punters and kickers still available.
Not to mention the fact that our current DBs who are any good never, ever get hurt.

One of the biggest winners of our draft so far, if not the biggest, is Darrell Baker Jr.

I’m not as down as most on the db’s. Sure, they could use some but it’s not a dire emergency. Dallis Flowers was having a hell of a year before he got hurt and they really like Brents. Plus, Kenny is still there.

I just get the feeling they really like the guys they have.

Agreed. The proof is in the pudding. And opposing quarterbacks liked the flavor.

DBs would be even better if we could apply more pressure on the opposing QBs, even the best corners in the league can't guard guys when the QB has all day in the pocket!

I still think we add a couple vets. Just waiting to see how the draft goes.

Two of the players I liked for the colts just went right before our pick.

Right there with ya Norm! Cry Superman and the entire defensive backfield would come running. All joking aside, it would be best if our corners and safeties would spend some mandatory time on IR. Perhaps a minimum of 4 weeks each season. Coming back after an injury is the best way to sharpen one's skills. Plus, injuries build character, the more severe the better. Case in point...."Glass Joe" Jefferson. I'll never forget the look on Steve McNair's face when Joe was prowling the secondary.

Anthony Gould seems a strange choice at this point. Maybe a special teams/returner type?
