This shit been going on all the way back to Edge. We have consistently had this type of key player bad / missed / under healed injury that has ruined guys. If you are a football player you have to have a back of your mind fear of playing for this franchise knowing this happens with such regularity here.

I don’t think it’s like these guys are forced to play. They can’t even pressure them to play injured. That’s banned by the union.

If they played, it’s because they wanted to play.

Now, you could question whether it was wise for the team to LET them play.

That was what I was getting at. The constant is the Colts deciding that injured players were ready when they were not. It is counterproductive. The issue isn't the players. If they are competitive you want them to want to play even if they shouldn't. It is up to management to actually manage this kind of crap to minimize player injury

I was listening to Nashville radio today. They were discussing Max Crosby being out for this Sunday. Their sentiment is that if he were healthy enough to play, he should play. Funny how people disagree on this. Maybe the narrative is most important to some.

None of these people were physicians who had examined the player. Nashville radio isn't where you go to get an opinion on if you are healthy enough to play football. It matters for shit what fans think. Physiians who have actually examined the players are the only ones who should be held accountable for what happens when said player plays. They are part of the management team.

And the physicians cleared Buckner, and Jones, to play.

I’m sure they were pressured by the desperate situation the Coach placed them in.

We need you man, jobs and future is on the line for all of us

Yes and I am saying they were proven wrong. Again I count them as part of Colt management-hired and paid for by the Colts. When you are a lousy organization it rarely is confined to one aspect. Not saying that these is the cases here but to me it is a bad look with terrible outcomes.

Woke up this am and realized I should left this discussion a few answers ago. I don't feel that strongly about this and feel the Colts probably followed the correct procedures. I wonder if the Colts should have been more conservative (instead of can he play maybe ask is he completely healed to avoid someone like Buckner being reinsured) or if they have internal discussions with the docs about how they handle serious injuries.

It's the Colts, so the player probably has internal discussions with their family that go something along these lines:

"This hack at the e-med center they use said all I had was a head cold. I can't move my head at all, in either direction and my fingers are tingly all the time, but he has a doctorate so???? Anyway, I probably better suit up regardless because Shane told me that if I didn't play this week he was looking to sign Montae Reagor as my replacement, something about him knowing all the defensive calls already. The Colts complex is a really fucked up place, there's this 50'ish dude that dresses like he's 19, he's always giving interviews and shit talking about always making mistakes- we don't even know what he does, he's like a car salesman or some shit, but he's always there playing Call of Duty in this giant office and then he'll just come into the workout room and flex on us, for years he has been asking us if we want to see some pics he has in his desk drawer- but we just blow him off because he is this really fucking strange dude that just loiters at the complex... just weird weird shit."
