What kind of a fucked up misconstrued, ass backward, incompetent organization have we become?

His take, Steichen gave AR a time-out for the tap out. He then basically points the finger back at Irsay for the commentary being planted that AR was this low work ethic bum in order to provide some cover for the org. This despite them telling us for 2 years he is the antithesis of that. Then went on to blast this whole "the D is doing their job" bullshit- 30th against the run, 27th against the pass, last in 4th quarter yardage, 30th on 3rd down, yada yada yada... this DEFENSE SUCKS!

Glad AR is back, hope he comes back and miraculously goes on a rip and we see tons of potential and feel good about next year. Then I hope Ballard, Steichen, and Bradley are all fucking shit canned the day after the season for fucking once again making the Colts the laughingstock of the NFL!
Don't tell C&O that this defense sucks. He will not hear it. I don't believe that it's the individual players. For the most part is Bradley.

The Colts' defense has above-average talent, and below-average coaching.

That's why you'll see flashes of excellence and flashes of suckage within the same game.

And that's why they will have a complete clunker like they did against the Jaguars, and then turn around and 2 consecutive games in which they almost single-handedly kept the team in the game until late in the 4th quarter in spite of total incompetence by the offense, like they did against the Vikings and the Bills.

I agree. Bradley has to go. He does not put players in the best positions to be successful. Look at Latu, rushing the A-gap the last two games and looking totally uncomfortable doing it.

Definitely agree. We have some pretty good talent at several positions. They are wasted in a scheme that is just remarkably bad. All the stats Venturi cited piss me off, but for me it all comes down to the completion percentage. This guy's ability to to constantly open the field up for QB's and WR's to just pitch and catch game after game, that shit is appalling!

Nothing disgusts me more about this product than this factor. For the older members, was ownership like this before Manning & Polian? I'm 35.

It's like they focus on getting asses in the seats and then the football afterwards, instead of focusing on football and letting football put the asses in the seats for them.

To me, it was not like this prior to Lucas Oil. We had some atrocious teams in the RCA dome prior to Manning, but it just didn't seem so contrived. More importantly, it did not feel this chaotic and dysfunctional. It was kind of like- well we suck, but we're gonna bust our ass and hopefully you support us- and in 95' shit that support was soooooo fun and the fans were so into it.

Sorry, I again equate the chaos of the team to Ballard. It is indisputable that we have been in state of chaos since he has been here. I just don't think he is good as a team leader and it lends itself to the organization having to play a game of slight of hand in order to try to convince the fan base we aren't a mess and thus not worthy of investing in. He just has to be sent packing for this franchise to stabilize and get back to being a good football operation.

I honestly just heard about this because i completely tuned the Colts out this week. I was so disgusted with the whole lot of them. I actually had planned on going golfing Sunday.

I’ll probably watch now but it doesn’t excuse the complete and utter dumpster fire this whole episode has been.

Makes my blood boil just thinking about it.

The support was also great in 1987, 1988, and 1989 when the Colts had 3 straight winning/non-losing seasons, except when a few Colts fans taunted Eric Dickerson with a black doll with big red lips that was holding watermelon and eating chicken.

Those were some great teams. Query's throw back interviews with some old-timers has been great listening. Loved hearing Verdin tell about how he was paid so much more than others and the friction it caused. He had a great conversation with Chandler a few weeks ago as well. Yeah some great names from those days.

C&O- help me- what was the year where we beat the Steelers on the tipped pass across the middle where it landed perfectly in Bill Brooks hands and he raced off to win the game?

The 1987 won the division title for the first time ever in Indianapolis ...... that was great.

I was really glad that Nesby Glasgow got to be a part of that team, because he paid his dues with mostly bad teams from 1979 through 1986 just prior to that ...... the 1980 team wasn't bad, and the 1983 team was competitive, but other than that the Colts' Dark Ages was from 1978 through 1986.

Regarding Bill Brooks, he played with the Colts from 1986 though 1992, and the Colts lost all 3 games in which they played the Steelers in that time-frame (1987, 1991, and 1992.) ...... you may be thinking of 1984, when Mike Pagel threw a 54-yard TD pass to Ray Butler with 34 seconds to play in the 4th quarter to give the Colts a 17-16 win.
