Texans are really good. Their weakness is the OLine.

But Stroud may be good enough to negate that.

That was a pro bowl level drive from Stroud.

Damn, the Colts had no hope stopping that play. Diggs couldn't have been any more wide open.

They did make it illegal. It's called a "hip-drop" tackle.

But here is the problem.

Proponents of the "hip-drop" tackle have stated that it's a good rule because Lawrence Taylor, Dick Butkus, Chris Hanburger, and all of the greats of the past never had to use that maneuver ...... but Lawrence Taylor, Dick Butkus and Chris Hanburger did not have to use that maneuver because they did not have all of the limitations set on them that the current defensive players have. There were no ridiculous penalties like "driving a quarterback to the turf", when that is exactly the fundamentals that one is taught in football (wrap him up strong, take him down hard, and make sure that he doesn't wiggle free for extra yardage.)

So yes, all of those great player in the 1960's, the 1970's, the 1980's, and the 1990's did not need to use the hip-drop/swivel maneuver, because they didn't have to use it ...... they weren't eviscerated by the rules that they have now, which essentially makes the only legal tackling maneuver to bear hug the ball-carrier without hitting him high, without hitting him low, without driving him to the turf, etc.

I'm not sure what exists in his playbook, other than giving WRs massive amounts of cushion.

On that AR run, that dirty piece of shit Texan launched himself like a missile and if AR didn't get down, that bastard would have ended AR's season.

They are trying to take him out, and that shows what a garbage organization it is.
