Donnell Thompson played 11 season for the Baltimore and Indianapolis Colts, from 1981 through 1991.

Thompson was the Baltimore Colts' 1st-round draft pick in 1981, a season in which he made the All-Rookie team. Over the next 10 seasons from 1982 through 1991 Thompson recorded 41 sacks, 8 fumble recoveries, and scored 1 touchdown.

He was a good player on some lousy teams. We could use his vet presence today.

With Donnell, I always wanted to compare him to the Pats #1 and 1982 1st overall pick Kenneth Sims.

Sims was a bust while Donnell had a solid career.

RIP Donnell.
