Guess we have to trim a bit of cap by tomorrow. Glad this is a problem.

Gotta give the front office their flowers for this one.

I thought for sure he was gone. Jones can do whatever the fuck he wants this season for all I care.

It was a chronic issue, since 2024. It has been nagging Pierce over the last 1 and-a-half seasons. He has played through it, hoping that it would heal itself. I suppose that it got considerably better in the last off-season (in between 2024 to 2025) to give Pierce hope that it was well on its way to ceasing. When it didn't, it was too late to have surgery without missing the 2025 season, so Pierce played through it.

Arthroscopic "clean-up" surgery involves removing bone spurs, scar tissue, and loose cartilage fragments ...... it was not reported which of the 3 that Pierce had, and/or if it may have been all 3. It is considered to be minor surgery because its arthroscopic (very minimal use of a scalpel.) It takes 4-6 months to completely recover because cartilage and ligaments heal slowly.

I recently read that Pierce has been walking around in a boot, walking very gingerly. He has been training on an Alter G treadmill (an anti-gravity treadmill) as part of his physical rehab. That type of treadmill is when they strap a harness around the person to minimize the amount of weight placed on the person's legs.

This is a 9-minute video of Pierce talking about the injury, from a press conference yesterday (June 10th.)

I don't think anything was done wrong or incorrectly. If nothing structural was done, which is what it sounds like, he should be fine-actually better-when it heals. It is just worrisome to me to have your #1 WR unavailable (for full participation) until maybe the beginning of the season. If he is going to be a bigger part of the offense, and that would mean more and different routes I would think, missing the preseason will set that back. DJ seems to be doing well but he is in the same boat and not having Pierce to get new routes and timing down isn't ideal. We may have to be patient for things to start clicking.
