Default Oh How The Times have Changed

The emphasis on the running was almost comically in the 60's/70's. As evidence of this, here's what the Colts did in the following drafts.

1970 1st Rd: Norm Bulaich RB
1971 1st Rd: Don McCauley RB
1972 2nd Rd: Lydell Mitchell RB
1973 3'rd Rd: Bill Olds RB
1974 2nd Rd: Ed Shuttlesworth RB

This has to go down in history as the most consecutive years of an NFL drafting a RB in the 1st 3 Rds.

I love posts like these. I was born in 89 and I have very little knowledge of most of these guys outside of Mitchell.

It's fun looking them all up on the internet and seeing if I can find tape.
