The only guy that I would like to see us sign prior to the beginning of free agency is E.J. Speed. I think a Zaire Franklin type contract of 3-year, $10m for a cap hit of $3.33m per year sounds aout right.
I think he is talented and will step up with more looks just like Franklin did this season. Otherwise? I would not mind seeing Campbell back but only if he is not expensive. I would not mind seeing McLeod back but only if he does not retire. I would not mind McLaughlin back if we cannot find better. I would not mind seeing Dulin back, period. But, none of those guys, with the possible exception of Campbell in a weak WR free agency class, will be very expensive. |

Speed: Keep.
Okereke: Keep only if there are Shaq health questions or we shop him in a trade. Campbell: Keep at the right price. A lot of WR's in this draft can replicate his production. Ngakoue: Keep only as a situational pass rusher. He's so bad against the run. This is a tough one because are we going to make the same mistake as we did on the OL this past year and entrusting Edge rush to two largely unproven players in Dayo and Quity? Mcleod: Keep and double his salary. Dulin: Just bring Pascal back. Pascal was better on as a WR. Facyson: Just bring Rock Ya Sin back. McLaughlin: Keep...No brainer. The rest all gone, except either Cowart or Lewis. I don't know how many people noticed, but when either Grove or Buck were out of the game we got our asses stomped up the middle. |

My Take:
Definitely keep: McLaughlin McLeod - if he doesn't retire Speed- if not too pricey Dulin - assuming he'd sign for cheap Brown - assuming he'd sign for cheap Keep if he's not too expensive but he probably will be: Okereke - Really good player and would love to keep him, but probably won't be able to. Ngakoue - We really should try to keep him if possible since our edge pass rush will go from just ok to really bad again without him, but some team out there will probably give him way more than he's worth. Keep them if they'll come back cheap: Campbell - Finally stayed healthy and had a good year, but due to his injury history it's too risky to really pay him. Kelly - Obviously nothing great here, but we're going to need OL depth. Everyone else can walk except for Pryor. Make sure that worthless POS never steps foot back in the state, and if the Colts can swing it the neighboring states as well. |
