The Athletic just named him the 9th greatest player ever. My first and only football god. Ernie Accorsi said this about him
“Is he the greatest of all time?” Accorsi wondered. “I don’t know how you can say that; it’s a totally different game now. I could make the case for (Tom) Brady, but I’ll tell you this: If I had my career on the line for one drive after all the football I’ve seen in my life, John Unitas would be the guy I want.” He was right
