After 6 Injuries in 3 Seasons, Can Parris Campbell Give the Colts the Lift They Need?

The football flew 55 yards in the air. The play felt three years in the making.
As much as he tries to avoid it, Parris Campbell hears the chatter, the hate on social media, the doubt that mere mention of his name stirs — that the Colts can’t count on him, that he’s “made of glass,” that he can’t last half a season without finding a new way to get hurt.
It’s his reality. And to this point, it’s his career. Campbell has played just 14 games in three seasons; his team has played 49.
Which is why that throw, that catch, that moment — all of it — meant so much. Because it came after the pulled hamstring, the broken hand, the broken foot, the sports hernia and the MCL and PCL sprains. Because it came after two seasons of hell.
“Sundays were a hard day for me, man, I can’t lie,” he said last summer, looking back on all those lost games. “It was rough. I was in a rough place for a long time.”
