A lot of guys complaining about turf the last couple of years. This is curious to me.
I've heard a lot of NBA heads discuss the increasing prevalence of injuries amongst players in their game. One of the takes I heard was that the prevalence of AAU programs contributes to this; The kids play basketball year round now and have much more mileage on their bodies than they have in the past. I am not familiar enough with Basketball to be able to assess this in a non-ignorant way, but I do think it's curious.
When I was a kid there was one high school in our region that had turf. The only other time we saw turf was when we played a game in the Georgia Dome. Today almost every high school has turf. Anyone with grass is in the minority.
I wonder if there is a correlation there as well.
