Default Colts rate dead last in NFL over the last decade

Will Carroll was on Grady and Big Joe and they were talking about the fact that it seems the Colts over-index for injuries during a given season. Will was very passionate on the subject and claims that it's not just a perception, it's real. I missed the first part of the discussion but he mentioned that there is some metric the NFL uses call an "Adjusted Game Lost" metric and by that metric for the last decade the Colts have scored dead last.....32 out of 32. He didn't elaborate on the factors in the metric but it somehow values the impact of injury on team accomplishment.

They shifted the discussion to what if anything the Colts could do to address this. Will noted that unlike most franchises the Colts have not built a Sports Performance capability......ie the colts approach is to fix the bodies that break vs. preventing the bodies from breaking. He also noted that while the colts have an analytics capability he wasn't sure that they really had a seat and voice at the table (historically) so those were two areas he thought could be improved organizationally.

Just more data that this organization under Jimmy's leadership has more problems than just management, talent, and coaching. I hope that he lets Ballard have full reign to right this ship because continuing to patch this leaky ship will only result in a fight to the bottom with Cleveland.
