A rebuild does not have to take many years, acquiring a few solid free agents can speed up the process. We have money to spend, I'd rather overpay for guys that will definitely be key contributors, than sit on our hands, and overpay for the scraps that are left, or pay for the "bargains" that don't normally work out, all the while leaving quite lot of money on the table.
