Ballard seems to have courted this guy for the last year and believes they have the same football philosophy. Having everyone pulling the same way is essential for our teams growth and long term success. I don't know that Grigson/Pagono even had a football philosophy. So I love the way that Ballard goes about his and the Colts business. There is enough here for me to actually look forward to the draft and next year. It's always a crapshoot when you hire a new coach, but I like our odds with Ballard at the helm.
You just wrote exactly what I was just thinking. As far as I'm concerned everyone deserves a second chance, especially if they were young and their failings came from a place of youthful ignorance/ego.....but everything I've read suggests he's smart and creative and that, coupled with the humble pie he had to eat is a good combo to suggest his second chance may be very different. I'm prepared to hope for the best. I also hope that McDaniel has some degree of confidence from his conversations with Ballard that Andrew will be back as good or better than ever.......Regardless, I share your belief that Ballard seems to be running a disciplined shop that's focused on the long term and that's a very welcome change from the clown show we became under the Greigson/Pagano era.
