So yes, you are correct in pointing out that Richardson did not play well overall in that particular game against the Patriots ...... but the bigger picture is more long-sighted than that. 2024 was Richardson's first full season in the NFL, after playing a total of 20 games in the NCAA.
This is from a previous post of mine, and is a better example of Richardson's improvement from earlier in the season. Richardson may or may not not sustain that improvement, but I believe that it is indeed still too early to throw him away.

Those stats mean nothing to me, weeks 1-8 he left 1 game before halftime and then missed 2 games after that. So in the first 8 weeks he played 5 and a half games which was concluded with the tap out debacle.
So let’s get into weeks 11-13
Jets was his best game all season but it was his return after the tap out so he responded well for 1 game ill give you that.
Week 12 was the Lions and I’d hardly call that a good game, the only thing he did effective was run the ball and yet and still he accounted for zero TDs.
Week 13 was the Patriots game which I’ve already touched on.
So let’s pickup the weeks you seem not interested in 15 and 16
15 - broncos, 170 yards and 2 INTs he did have 46 yards rushing and a TD, the only thing they could get working that game was JT and he nearly carried us to the playoffs singlehanded
16- His final game due to a back injury since middle school…. He went a whopping 7-11 131 1td 1 int. Once again JT put the team on his back 29 fuckin carries for 218 yards and 3 tds
17-18 DNP Back
The jets game was an anomaly the entire staff knew it and that’s why they started leaning on JT similar to the end of the Wentz season.
Hurt at every level and has only played QB since high school and plays the position with a diva WR mentality
