My guess is that AR is not yet ready for all of life's events, as most 21 year olds are not. Compile that with being a staring NFL QB that is rehabbing from injury, I can see where it's just a whirlwind to him. I know that I couldn't handle all of that shit at 21 yrs old.
So AR does need to grow, both personally and professionally. The Colts are just giving him some breathing room so that can possibly happen.

Okay, so, a giant Fugazi?
This would be giving a few dudes that I have convinced myself are really fucking stupid, a lot of credit, unlikely but I suppose possible...
"Jim, Chris, we aren't winning shit this year, we just need to admit and accept it. We really need to be focused on next year and being ready then. Anthony is starting to crack- too much on him. The tap out, it's all stacking up on him right now. We aren't winning the next 4 games, and by the end of these 4 games he may be so fractured we can never get him back. So, let's sit him, say we're ready to compete and that's the reason for Flacco. Let him take the heat for how bad we're gonna be. The final 5 games, all very winnable but we're probably out of contention. We put Anthony back in, the pressure is off, lower caliber of competition, we try to build his confidence back up to come into next year with some momentum."
"Shane, makes sense, put it in motion."
Plausible, not probable, but there has to be SOME kind of plan right- I mean there has to be?
I would love for this to be the plan. I was such a believer in the AR is a sponge, soaking it all up, driven to be an all-time great, etc... man it is hard to hold onto that ideology right now but I sure as hell want to!
