Not really quite true.

If we cut him before 2025 (next season), then the dead cap would be $20.087m which is bit hard, not not impossible to get around.

His dead cap in 2026 is only his salary/prorated bonus of $10.816m. With an estimated team cap hit around $265m, $10m is very, very doable.

So, I think he will be here in 2025 and I think that is the correct decision. With his injury history, giving him a 3rd season to sink or swim is the right thing to do with a 1st round QB.

But, if he has not progressed in 2025, I think it is very, very possible that the Colts might head in a new direction at QB (cough....Arch Manning....cough) !
