Steichen might be ok if he had a QB who was accurate at all, but he definitely looks clueless on helping AR out. 3rd and 3 from your own ~10. AR has gone 2/14 in the first half and just threw a pass that should have been picked. So he calls up empty backfield w/ a timing route over the middle. Absolutely horrible play calling. |
As poorly as AR played, I blame the play calling to close out the 1st half for this loss. 59 seconds left, you're on the 5 yard line, (90fucking5 yards away) scheduled to start the 2nd half getting the ball and you don't just run, run, run? This idiotic play calling cost the Colts 7 points. Your QB is passing like shit and you decide he might pull off a drive of at least 60 yards so you can try a FG? There's still hope AR can overcome his youthful ignorance, but whoever called the plays down the 1st half stretch should have is balls removed.
