I like Hines a bunch....but not how the Colts used him.
Sorry, but I point to Reich almost 100% for the failure to use Hines as he could have been used.
"Look, we have Jonathan Taylor who is one of the best between the tackles running backs in the league. Let's script 85% of our rush attempts to be between the tackles."
"Look, we have Hines who is terrible running between the tackles. But, since we have JT doing it, we will have NH do it as well. So what that he only averages 1.1 yards between the tackles!"
When I look at Hines, I see a Darrel Sproles type back. That dude fricking killed the Colts for years with swing passes, short delayed crossing routes, pitch toss to the corner, etc. The Charges got him out in space and he was like a greased pig.
But our offensive staff, to include the HC, could not be bothered with putting in plays that specifically to work with Hines strength. Instead, on 1st and 10? Hines up the middle for 1.1 yards.
I hope that having a camp with the Bills in 2023 will increase his touches because he is a great weapon...if used correctly.
