You're right, he's not more risky than drafting a young kid (particularly in this years type of class) in that he's a known commodity. We know he can play in an offense tailored to him.
But he runs the ball more than any QB and he's been doing it since halfway through his rookie year. That's a lot of RB-hits to take for a QB. The past two seasons, he's missed five games each. And both times it's like the last month+ of the season. Wearing down by the end of the season?
That style of play already makes you worry about individual freak hits that could take him out. Then factor in the wear-and-tear that will eventually catch up. And then on top of all that, he wants a Deshaun Watson-style guaranteed $40m-$50m/yr. The $250m deal he was offered wasn't good enough.
Not to mention he apparently healthy scratched himself from a fucking playoff game. No thanks.
