If we were on our own 15-yardline, I would have liked the call.
We were on the 38-yardline, and to me, those extra 5 or 6 yards don't make much difference.
And yes, I see that it worked out well with the punt, but it may have worked out just as well if we had not gained any yardage on 3rd down and punted from our own 38, instead of our own 43.

On the other hand, I
WOULD HAVE called a more conservative call on 3rd-and-14 fright there, and I'm not just saying that because of the missed field goal.
First of all, a run play on 3rd and 14 would have left a reasonable possibility for getting the first down, as a run play would have had the element of surprise.
Secondly, and extra 5 or 6 yards in that situation
WOULD HAVE made a significant difference, as a 43 or 44 yard field goal attempt has a considerably higher percentage of being made than does a 50-yard field goal attempt.
And again, I was thinking this is soon as Ryan's pass fell incomplete, not right after McLaughlin's field goal attempt went slightly wide-right.
