Default Scientific proof we should have known this would be a bad year

I’ve said this before but the evidence is mounting. The Colts and IU basketball are never good in the same year, and with all the signs pointing to IU having a very good team this year, we should have known the Colts were in for a bad time.
This trend has been true at least since 2001, that year the Colts finished 6-10, giving us Mora’s famous “playoffs?!” Quote. Meanwhile this was the season IU went 25-12 and made it to the NCAA championship game.

Colts 10-6, IU decline to 21-13, don’t make it far in the tourney
Colts 12-4, IU 14-15 - Colts good, IU bad
Colts 12-4, IU 15-14 - Colts good, IU bad
Colts 14-2, IU 19-12 - Colts great, IU a little better but Mike Davis fired)
Colts 12-4 (Super Bowl), IU 21-11 (better but start of Sampson era)
Colts 13-3, IU 25-8 (an exception maybe, but Sampson fired near end of year, team ends as a disgrace)
Colts 12-4, IU 6-25 (Colts good, IU terrible)
Colts 14-2 (Super Bowl appearance), IU 10-21 (Colts great, IU terrible)
Colts 10-6, IU 12-20 (Colts good, IU terrible)
Thus ended the Manning era in Indy and began the Zeller/Oladipo era at IU
Colts 2-14, IU 27-9 (Colts terrible, IU good)
Colts 11-5, IU 29-7 (the main exception to my rule, both teams good)
Colts 11-5, IU 17-15 (Colts good, IU bad)
Colts 11-5, IU 20-14 (Colts good, IU a little better but mediocre)
Colts 8-8, IU 27-8 (Colts mediocre, IU has a good year)
Colts 8-8, IU 18-16 (both teams can be bad or mediocre in same year)
 Colts 4-12, IU 16-15
Colts 10-6, IU 19-16 (Colts get better, IU still mediocre)
Colts 7-9, IU 20-12 (Colts bad, IU good)
Colts 11-5, IU 12-15 (Colts back to good, IU goes back to bad)
Colts 9-8, IU 21-14 (Colts mediocre, end season bad, IU under Woodson starts looking good)
Colts current 3-5-1 and look awful, IU is 2-0 and looking strong while blowing out cupcakes, has a high ranking.
