I recall cities burning last summer while CNN called it “fiery but mostly peaceful demonstrations” in one of the most infamous moments of the whole year. And don’t forget Wapo’s “austere religious scholar” description of a terrorist because they didn’t like the fact that Trump killed him. I could keep going.
It’s not whataboutism, it’s the exact same thing.
Look, I don’t disagree that right wing sites are a problem. But left wing sites are just as bad.
It’s not as much a right or left wing problem as it is an entire media problem.

The FBI has stated that right-wing extremists are a growing threat domestically. This article shows the increase of right wing incidents on the graph which dwarfs the comparable left wing extremists group actions. In the past year we had a group plan to kidnap a governor, a riot trying to prevent the certification of our election, a bomb threat in DC just the other day. The number of hate groups have increased a 1000 fold since Obama was president.

I remember those riots as well and no one agreed with them. However, perception from these sites was that every city was burning down. But you would never see this headline on right-wing sites.

I remember sites encouraging Clinton to challenge the election also since she won the popular vote. But she didn't and did the right thing by conceding because our elections don't go off the popular vote. She lost.
Fortunately, left and right is not the same thing or we probably would be at war now. Yes, left-wing media can be bad as well, but not as bad. Right-wing media is focused on creating outrage and anger, focused on the liberal as the main antagonist. Liberals tend to spread out their news sources so you have different ideas coming in. Conservatives are centered around Fox news and generally just have one source for their news. This gives Fox a stranglehold on what is reported, and they are bad and actively omit things. Not to mention their opinion commentators like Tucker had to declare that their shows are entertainment and not news bc of all the lies they put in them. That means conservatives are generally less informed on issues.
pew research on media breakdown
Right-wing is really focused on angering their viewers/listeners with fear-based ideology. I suggest the documentary "The Brainwashing of my dad". Might be interesting, free on amazon prime.

Finally, after watching all the frustrated angry anti-maskers at these school board meetings (some of whom do not even have kids) that is why I say "ok, enough is enough."
