Turns out "The Patriot Way" was 70% Brady being great (and taking less $), 25% BB finding diamond in the rough guys who all turned into gold, and 5% actual cheating/shenanigans.

Same here, as I think that Belichick is considerably more deserving for his teams' successes than 25%. I've pointed out before that when Tom Brady missed an entire season with an injury in 2008, the Patriots went 11-5 with Matt Cassel at quarterback. The only reason why they did not make the playoffs that year was because the AFC was stacked that season (as it was this season.) It was the antithesis of when Peyton Manning missed the entire 2011 season with an injury, and the Colts wound up going 2-14. The 2020 Colts were in the same exact position as were those 2008 Patriots, but were fortunate that a #7 seed was added to the NFL post-season tournament for the first time ever.
The title of this article alone exemplifies the 2008 season for Belichick's Brady-less Patriots.
The 2008 Patriots Will Forever be Bill Belichick’s True Masterpiece
