If it were the 80's I think age would catch up. Plus I give more credit to their coaching. They won 11 games without him. There's former players who give Peyton Manning more credit because he called the plays.
It seems like the QB up to the 70's get less credit. They had less rules to promote more offense. I still appreciate guys like Johnny U. Those passing yards did not come easy. I think the old timers could make a great argument he was the greatest. Plus Jim Moral was probably the greatest backup QB ever.

Earl? I would argue that Foles is probably the greatest backup ever. Morrall shit the bed against the Jets. I was too young to remember that SB, but I saw replays of it and he stunk up the joint. Bubba Smith came out and said he thought the game was fixed. I happen to agree with him.
