Not quite Brady vs Manning

I must admit I've been as much of Debbie Downer as anybody after Sundays loss.

But it's Wednesday and time to look at the positives. We should be able to enjoy many Stroud vs Richardson battles for the next 10+years. Currently they are 1-1 in head to head battles and are easily the two most exciting QB's to come out of the last 2 drafts.

Both QB's have their flaws. Stroud (holds the ball too long), Richardson (accuracy on short to mid-range throws). But MAN! is this going to be fun to watch!

Now we just need some playoff battles.

Yes this head to head with both in the same division from the same class with one pick separating them, both with YOUNG overall teams and particularly YOUNG and talented WR units, this could produce a historical 1:1 battle that brings so much interest for both teams in the coming years. Should be a hell of a lot of fun.

If this does turn into a good QB rivalry, the Texans and Colts have David Tepper to thank. Supposedly he was the main driver of the "Draft Bryce Young" bus. There were rumors that Reich was enamored with Richardson (Ballard and his RAS scores must have rubbed off on him), but Tepper told Reich that the Panthers were drafting Young and Reich quickly fell in line.

I know it is only one game in a new Carolina coaching regime, but here was the summary of Young's day on Sunday:

Young, who struggled badly as a rookie after being the first overall draft pick following the Panthers' monster trade to go up and get him, threw a bad interception on his first pass of the season. He threw a worse interception to start the second half, throwing well past an open Adam Thielen. The Saints turned that interception into a touchdown and a 37-3 lead. At that point, Young's line was horrific: 6 of 14, 50 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions and a nearly impossible 13.1 passer rating.

Young padded his stats a bit after the game was completely out of hand, and the Saints rolled to a 47-10 win. Young finished 13-of-30 for 161 yards.

Reich also liked Stroud a lot too. But Tepper was reportedly saying they didn’t want to go down a Cam Newton path again.

If I’m being honest, I’d take Stroud over AR.

Stroud is REALLY REALLY good and he’s going to be a problem for many years to come.

AR’s ceiling is higher for sure, but there’s no guarantee he’ll ever reach it.

I’m just thankful I’m not a Panthers fan. Womp womp.

Or a Browns fan. It looks like Watson was a colossal and expensive mistake.

Wow, you’re right. I didn’t think about the Browns.

Now THAT is a franchise that is fooked at quarterback.

There was a Twitter post from a Browns reporter somewhere... I want to say they're still at almost $200m dead cap if they cut him this year. Still huge next year, and the next, and the next...

What a stupid fucking move.

They should have kept Baker Mayfield. I never understood why they let him go. Dumb owner/front office I guess.

Apparently the Browns may be able to void the guarantees if he didn't disclose all of his legal issues. At least that's what I read on the Athletic earlier.
