Colts QB Anthony Richardson leaves game with injury to throwing shoulder

A disturbing trend

Quote:

Richardson was examined inside the blue medical tent for several minutes, then left and headed directly to the locker room.

Backup quarterback Gardner Minshew, who took over for Richardson in Houston and Baltimore, entered the game for Indianapolis. The Colts failed to convert a four-and-1 at the Tennessee 5-yard line and went to halftime leading 10-6.

It is the third game Richardson has left early: Jacksonville (knee/ankle), Houston (concussion), Tennessee (right shoulder). He also missed the game at Baltimore due to the concussion.

The initial diagnosis for Colts QB Anthony Richardson is an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, per sources.

He’ll undergo an MRI to further assess.

X-rays were negative.

Not good. Will miss several weeks at best. If it is a bad one could require surgery. Hope for a grade 1. Kid is a walking injury so far. Lets hope it is just bad luck.

I think you're jumping the gun a bit Oldcolt. Relax I bet it's not as bad you might think.

Sources: Colts starting QB Anthony Richardson received an initial diagnosis of a Grade 3 AC joint sprain, which would mean he’d miss a month or more.

He has an MRI this morning to confirm.

Either way, it’s likely Gardner Minshew next week and moving forward.

I think we need to start to ask if AR’s body is just not cut out for the NFL. He’s only finished one game out of the four he’s started and he missed another one completely.

At this point it’s fair to wonder if he’ll ever stay healthy.

If not, the Colts need to start looking forward.

There was an easier way to keep him on the field. Teach him to run out of bounds

...Team and player still charting course and gathering info.
