Richardson and Kelly return to practice

Neither have completely cleared the concussion protocol, but at least this shows they are advancing through the steps:

Colts C Ryan Kelly is in a blue jersey instead of a red non-contact jersey, meaning he’s at least at step five in the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol, which allows him to participate in full contact practice.

Last hurdle is being cleared by an independent doctor.

Isn’t getting through a practice part of the protocol that you need to pass?

I'm not suggesting Steichen would do anything that wasn't in AR's best interest, but I would not rush him back, I'd like to see him sit at least one more game personally!

I believe they will get tested through Saturday. They cant be too careful with concussions. This game ages a players body and mind.

More info from Indy Star.

INDIANAPOLIS — Rookie Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson and veteran center Ryan Kelly are practicing Wednesday, a significant step as they recover from concussions suffered against Houston two weeks ago.

Richardson and Kelly remain in the protocol, but the fact that they’re practicing indicates that both players are in the final two steps of the NFL’s concussion protocol: non-contact practice, then a full-contact practice.

Richardson will take all of the starter’s snaps in practice, another indication that Indianapolis feels good about his prognosis, even though he remains in the protocol.

The Colts also took the rookie quarterback to Baltimore.

Richardson was on the field during warmups, then spent the game on the sideline with the rest of the offense.

“It was huge to have him there,” Indianapolis head coach Shane Steichen said. “He was engaged, he was excited when we were scoring and making plays, being around the quarterbacks in between series.”

And the rookie quarterback wasn’t just watching and cheering.

“He was helping us out as a coaching staff, the quarterback group, out, just with what he saw,” offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter said. “When you’ve been out there in the huddle at the line, you see the defense one way, and you get over to the sideline and maybe you have a different perspective on them. He was able to give us a thing or two that he thought he was seeing a little bit.”

I'd like to see him be smarter about taking hits when running. Show me that you learned something otherwise this will be your last season.
