A Boston team cheating? I find that hard to believe.

Stealing signs while on base happens all the time. There is no rule against it. This is what the yankees are claiming the sox did:

"They have devised a scheme in which a member of their organization watches catchers to pick up the signs. The person quickly decodes the sequence that signifies the pitch that would be thrown. Then, according to sources, the information would be texted to Red Sox assistant trainer Jon Jochim. Jochim would relay the information to Red Sox batters.

That seems like an awful lot going on between when the sign is given and when the pitch is delivered.

When the use of an electronic device is involved, it's illegal. This is nowhere near as bad as Spygate, but it is illegal.

understood and agree.

what I was saying was that seems like a convoluted way of stealing signs and wonder how effective it is to have someone try to decipher the sign, then txt someone in the dugout, then the dugout relay the sign to the batter all in the time of the catcher laying down the sign and the pitcher delivering the ball.

If you ever watch a game, you will see that this allows for plenty of time for all that.
