It's really annoying that this alleged "USFL" uses the same name as a previous historic league that was pretty darned good when it folded after 3 seasons ...... it gradually gained steam between its first season in 1983 and its last season in 1985, and was on a path similar to that of the AFL (1960-1969), which eventually merged with the NFL in 1970.
People like myself who are old enough to remember know that difference, but for the younger football fans the blurred lines of these 2 very different leagues make it rather ambiguous.
