Campbell and Grayson
 

Are both in the top ten of of receivers in the league getting separation from their coverage. Campbell at 4.2 and Grayson at 4.5 yards.

It is so hard to know now good or bad receivers are with this offensive line

We've got a ton of missed opportunities downfield on tape. If the O-line can figure it out and help each other better, this thing can flip hard. I'm excited to see if they can do it.

Somehow after this utter catastrophe of a start, we're the #8 seed, one spot out of the playoffs. It's still there for the taking.

So this data would indicate to me that Campbell is running a lot of deep routes and Ryan just doesn't have the time in the pocket to get him the ball.

How else can we explain why Campbell has so few targets?

They are getting open on the all 22. Just Ryan can’t get to them on the progressions bc he often can’t get past his first due to pressure. Props should be given to Wayne for helping that receiver room and getting Pierce up to speed.

Also, I see a lot of “why don’t they run shorter routes?”. Defenses are scheming to take away underneath routes counting on their pass rush to get to Ryan, which it is. This often leaves the nickle corner on Campbell and they are having a hard time covering him. But he is usually running mid to deep routes and Ryan doesn’t have time to get him the ball.

If they can fix the oline it should help a lot of other things.

Yet Tom Brady has made a living on short routes.

The fix is cut Pryor, put Braden back at RT, and put Fries or anyone other than Pinter at RG.

Here's a play intended to be pretty quick and even it gets blown up. From snap to Josh Allen making contact is like less than 2.5sec or something. I added some expert-level illustrations.

It's 12 personnel with Hines wide right and double TE right with MAC+Woods. Dulin and Strachan are lined up left, but Ryan doesn't even look that way because he seems to be solely working on this scheme with Hines + TE's. Josh Allen is lined up wide on Pryor. JAX is running a Cover 2 zone.

Hines runs 3yds and just stands up as if he's done, like he's a decoy. Jelani Woods starts running a fade. Trayvon Walker drops into coverage and bumps MAC before letting him go to run kind of a seam. For shits, Dulin is running a post backside. Josh Allen is already 5yds upfield and getting ready to turn the corner. Ryan's looking right the whole time.

After a short delay, Hines route continues running a drag route right at the same time Woods blows past the CB and the CB starts to go with him. Woods has 15yds between him and the safety. MAC is taken by the deep LB. And LB's Lloyd and Walker are shallow looking at Ryan.

The line gives Ryan a decent pocket except... Josh Allen gives a quick swipe to Pryor's hands and it's game over.

On the end-zone cam, you can see Ryan shift his eyes from the TE's, to Hines. Seems like it was predetermined for Hines, get a playmaker the ball with a 3-4yd catch running across one LB, another LB watching but will be 7yds or so away when the catch is made, hopefully make a move, get a few more yards, possibly a bigger chunk.

Maybe if they had some rythm/confidence... Woods has a lot of room up the sideline. Dulin also has a lot of grass around him. I think he was intended to clear space (maybe TE's, too), but again, if they had time/confidence, maybe Ryan comes back to that later.

Doesn't matter, though. Again, it's less than 2.5sec from snap to strip-sack.

Generally speaking, the ball is intended to come out in 2.5 sec.
