Former Colt QB Jack Trudeau suffers massive stroke

Just seen this, not saying anyone needs to contribute, but maybe some would like to help a former Colt in his time of need.

Class guy. Terrible news.

As far as I remember Trudeau never complained when losing playing time to Chris Chandler, Gary Hogeboom, and Jeff George, and was always ready to go when those players suffered injuries or were ineffective ...... pretty darned unselfish for a 2nd-round draft pick. To me, I'll always think of him as the quintessential good soldier.

Not to sound unsympathetic but playing 10 years in the NFL should have set him up financially for life.

I agree. You feel bad for the guy, but wonder why he needs a fundraiser.

Possibly. On the other hand, the average salary for an NFL player was $450k or so in 1990 (if he averaged that his entire 10 year career, that's like 8.5 million in today's money). Granted, that's a hell of a lot more than I'm making today, but it's not like the typical astronomical salary that players make today, and I have no clue how bad his medical bills have been for him since he retired.

On another note, it was neat looking at some of the names on that list who donated (he's pretty close to getting the $100k). Like Dean Beacussi and Cornelius Bennett (of course I have no clue if it was actually them or not). Also saw Frank Reich on there. Someone anonymously donated $50k...wonder if it was Irsay.
