2020 Home / Away schedule announced

Looking forward to another crack at the Steelers on the road. Packers, Vikings will be tough draws at home.

All the non-division opponents:

Home:
Baltimore Ravens
Cincinnati Bengals
Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings
New York Jets

Away:
Chicago Bears
Cleveland Browns
Detroit Lions
Las Vegas Raiders
Pittsburgh Steelers

That's a 5-11 or worse schedule without an upgrade at QB. Maybe the plan is tank for Trevor.

I don't think I'm that pessimistic. It's 7 of 16 games with an opponent that made the playoffs.

Tennessee 2x
Houston 2x
Ravens
Packers
Vikings

I think it's optimistic to think that anyone other than Jacoby Brissett will be under center week 1. I appreciated Ballard's comment in this regard, but it didn't actually seem like he was declaring anything.

Someone else mentioned it, I really like the Bridgewater idea, The saints paid him 7.2 million last year to back up Brees. Thats about half what we will be paying Brissett next year.

I mentioned Bridgewater, and he looked like he was on his way to becoming a franchise QB before he mangled his knee. With Bridgewater, it's a different story, but the league figured Briskett out after 7 games. With Briskett, nothing is a sure win, I see Cincinnati and Detroit as better than a coin flip chance at a win, and the following games as 1 in 4 or less: @ TEN, @ HOU, vs BAL, vs GB, vs MIN, @ CHI, @ PIT. That's nearly half the season. If you're penciling in 7 losses, you're probably looking at a 5-11 team at best.

I would guess tank is not in ballards and reichs vocabulary.

besides, I dont think we are inept enough to get the #1 pick. What are the QB prospects like following TL?

Justin Fields looks really good if he declares. Apart from those two, no one in particular stands out as an NFL ready, franchise guy at the moment.

Maybe the project QB needs to be drafted this year. I like Jacob Eason as much as anyone who might be available to us where I believe we may be drafting next season. With that additional second round pick in our pocket and the cash we are sitting on we have the means to fill some holes.

Some kids will emerge. They seem to every year now. I bet someone comes out and challenges Lawrence for that number 1. Hell, Fields May get better. Also Tua still hasn’t quite decided to come out. If he stays. Could be a very good class next year.
