Thoughts on Ratbirds game

Didn't see one, so here goes:

1. We dominated those dirty birds for 3/4 of the game. Was thrilled to see that. However, ...

2. Cornerbacks dropped left and right, leaving us no chance to stop the obvious passing attack that was coming. Who would have thought our fans would miss Rock? (I still say he is better than his critics make him out to be.)

3. Kicking game cost us big time. I know he is hurt, but one point from him would have helped immensely. Maybe the injury is wht we went for two, and failed. This leads me to the next point.

4. What was with that attempt? I think putting the ball in the hands of Taylor or Hines would have gotten the two points.

5. If there were one more minute or one less to the game in regulation, I think we win it. Either they would have run out of time, or we would have had the time we needed foe a better FG attempt.

6. Speaking of more time, I was glad to see the TD after the refs called back the extraordinary fumble recovery for a TD. However, the time it took would have helped us at the end.

7. The defense played like we expected while healthy. Yes, we still have no pass rush, but they played nearly a perfect game in the first half.

8. Wentz looked solid. I wish he had not fumbled in the red zone, because those points we lost came back to haunt us. I still think he will be very successful for us down the road.

9. Our RB room is very good. Not sure, but I think they had nearly 250 all-purpose yards. Between them and Wentz, our offense was clicking well, minus the one TO.

10. I mentioned pass rush, so I must say that I am anxious to see Dayo and Paye when they are healthy. Maybe that makes all the difference for the defense.

11. I hate what Eberflus brings to the table, but he called a perfect game in the first half, and Baltimore couldn't do much until we were down to practice squad CBs.

That might have been the most brutal loss I’ve ever seen.

It was like the perfect storm in the 4th quarter. Every break the Ravens had to have, they got.

I still can’t believe they lost that game.

Dayo and Paye will not fix our pass rush this year. Dayo won't even be at his physical best for another year and Paye is way to inexperienced (as is Dayo). I have hope that they are able to bring something to the table in their second year. Could happen this year but very unlikely.

Jonathan Taylor burns the Ravens for a 76 yard touchdown to start the game.

Frank Reich: It's time to get Marlon Mack going.

#8- Wentz fumble, I thought the ESPN broadcast fuckin sucked all fuckin game I still believe that dude was offsides but we never got clear view of it because ESPN shows us 1 shitty camera angle and then had to go to commercial

#4 is why Frank Reich needs to resign.

This guy to me has developed the "I'll show them I am smart" mentality that ultimately doomed Charlie Weiss.

Jimmy Johnson wasn't really that great of a coach and isn't revered in the coaching ranks. Why? Because Jimmy Johnson was actually very good at not trying to make the game about him. Something was working, stuck with it unless you proved you could stop it. Emmit running like a monster, Emmit was getting 30 carries and in the tough spots, you knew Emmit was getting it period- stop it, don't think you can. Conversely if the run wasn't there, Jimmy's team had no problem throwing 5-6 bombs a game to Irvin- because it worked.

Not our guy, not Frank, not Frank's staff. Our staff has to trick em' instead of just beating their a$$es- and in this game, and in particular on that drive, we were kicking their a$$es with the run. So of course, go semi- roll out, designed spin, and throw to the corner for what would be a very hard throw and catch to begin with let alone in the confined space of a 2 pt conversion. Just an awful play call in that situation but so very indicative of the coach he has morphed into.

I was actually very happy when we got him and in the first couple years I was very impressed. We were sort of a bully for a while, just line up and kick your A$$ type of team, try to stop us from running, bet you can't. We don't do that anymore and it sucks. Yeah we have some injuries but in that game, the injuries weren't showing themselves, we were dominating the LOS but Frank wanted to prove he was a tricky guy.

He needs to go!

Have we ever had a coach that continually outsmarts himself like we've seen with Frank?

BTW... re the fumble, I definitely thought he was offside and apparently so did Fisher, who threw his hands up, and no freaking ESPN replay to show the line of scrimmage.
