All-22 Film room: Is the Colts #1 Pass Defense Legit?

Through 6 weeks, the Indianapolis Colts go into their bye week as the #1 pass defense in the NFL.
Still the only team allowing less than 200 yards through the air per game!

I dive into the All-22 film room, and break down each starting DB, and talk about how DC Matt Eberflus has improved over the past couple seasons game planning, and making in-game adjustments.

Don't forget to like, subscribe, and share if you enjoy this video.

Let me know your thoughts of my breakdown down below in the comments!

Thank you!

The rookie put rock ya son between a rock and a hard place. Ha

I liked the breakdown and shows it wasn’t entirely Rock’s fault for the pass. Your presentation has come a long ways since those original podcast files. If you don’t mind some unsolicited advice, your VO audio could use a little tweaking in post. It sounds a little tingy on the high frequency end. I’m not sure what tool you’re using for editing but this guy is pretty good on teaching. And whatever tool you use, the principles are the same. This guy edits on adobe. But there are lots of other good ones as well, just editors I know use this guy as a resource. Really doing a tweak should take about a minute, less if you save the profile, and will make it more enjoyable to listen to.

Of the 24 points that the Ravens scored in yesterday's game, 17 of them had a lot to do with the Colts' offense (and some help by the referees.)

The Ravens returned a Colts fumble for a touchdown.

The Ravens scored another touchdown after a turnover by the Colts' offense deep in their own territory (albeit after a questionable call by the referees.)

The Ravens kicked a field goal after the Colts' offense failed to convert on 4th down on their own 36 yard-line, late in the 4th quarter.

(vs. PACKERS, 11/22)

The defense overall was outstanding in the 2nd half of the Colts' overtime win against the Pack.

The Colts' pass defense may or may not be legit, but turning a 14-point deficit into a win against an Aaron Rodgers-led team is a huge deal. Rodgers is 1-2 against the Colts in his career when he has a lead of 14 or more points ...... against the rest of the NFL in such situations, the future Hall-of-Famer is 95-2. )

(vs. TEXANS, 12/06)

1) ) The defense sacked the elusive DeShaun Watson 5 times today, including a safety.

2) ) They got an absolutely determined INT that was initially a completed pass for the opposition.

3) ) They didn't screw up the gift fumble that was handed to them which ended the game.

I really liked most of what I saw from them today.

(vs. RAIDERS, 12/13)

After a slow start, the pass defense put the clamps on the Raiders.

They forced 3 turnovers (2 INT's and 1 Fumble Recovery), and they held the Raiders to a field goal instead of a touchdown at a crucial point in the game early in the 3rd quarter by keeping them out of the end zone on a trick play. The Raiders gained a big 38 yards on that trick play, but by not allowing them to cross the goal line after the WR-to-WR pass they allowed themselves to defend a compact field inside of the 10 yard-line for the next 3 plays.

Overall, I thought that the Colts' defense (including the pass-defense) played reasonably well this afternoon.
