If I’m Chris Ballard

I’m promoting talk that maybe, just maybe, I’m not committed to drafting a Quarterback with the 4th pick. I’d spend the next 20 days fawning over Will Anderson. I’d camp out in Tennessee, promoting the possibility of adding a game changing Defensive End and a Quarterback that Peyton Manning loves. I’d even suggest that I’ve been getting calls from DE needy teams looking to trade up, and I’d allow that we’d love to be blown away by an offer.

I’d want to freeze Arizona into keeping the 3rd pick. JJ Watt retired, and you’ve got to figure that, as far as they’re concerned, plan A is to hold up the Colts, force them to ante up a bounty of draft picks to move up one spot. They want to have their cake and eat it, too

I’d want to throw a spanner into those thoughts, plant a seed of doubt and make them worry that, if they want Anderson, they’ve got to stay put at 3.

if the cards want anderson, they will stay unless someone makes an insane offer for the pick

the colts just need to sit tight and let things happen.

The wild card is Seattle. Arizona could trade the 3rd pick to them, figuring that the Seahawks take Richardson, the Colts pick Levis, and the Cardinals pocket extra draft picks while picking the player they always had their sights set on.

That is what Ballard did to the Jests to get Nelson.

Well I'll tell you that would be a dumb move. There are smart minds in that room. I just hope they know what they're doing with this QB situation, because it seems like they've come into a bit of paralysis by analysis. Hopefully, that's just the way it looks on the outside.

Don't just sit back and stay put at pick No. 4, trade back, I see no way that anyone actually trades up to the third or fourth picks for either Richardson or Levis, they just aren't worth being selected that high.

I think the same with both Stroud and Young, those are the best two QB's, but neither of them are the best players in this draft and neither truly deserves to be taken No. 1 overall, although i am fairly sure that one of them will be.

Will Anderson, Jalen Carter, Devon Witherspoon, Tyree Wilson, Peter Skoronski and Bijan Robinson, are the best talents in my eyes. TE Dalton Kincaid could end up being the absolute superstar of this draft though, have a feeling he is going to end up being the best TE in football within a year or two.

Or this is just internet fodder, and they are doing their due diligence on all players that they are interested in, be it for this draft or future years.

If you really believe Carter or Anderson helps this team more than Richardson or Levis, why not just pick one of them, probably the one Arizona doesn't pick? If you trade back, you may lose them both. Depending on how far you trade back, you could end up missing out on Levis or Richardson too? My feeling is the Colts believe they can be successful with Levis or Richardson either one, I'm sure they have a preference, but they know they are not getting Stroud or Young, and I think they are fine with that! But if they ended up taking Anderson or Carter and then were able to get Hooker I could also live with that, but Hooker stock is on the rise, I doubt he falls to the second round?

You are right, Hooker will not make it to the 2nd round.
