Washington released last year's camp phenom TE Hale Hentges. I am interested to see what the Colts do with the roster with the TE position with all the injuries they have sustained.

Quote:

Hale Hentges cut per source. The TE spot was a tough one too after Logan Thomas.

Also the NY Jets cut another familiar name - TE Ross Travis.

No surprises thus far.

With Rodrigo making the final roster, it keeps the Colts UDFA streak alive - it is now 22 straight years that the Colts have had an UDFA on the Week 1 roster.

Do you know if he has changed his mechanics at all during the off season?

At Georgia, his kicks were typically a lower trajectory coming off the foot so longer range FG attempts could be an adventure at the NFL level.....might see several blocked or mis-directed kicks this year.

YDFL Commish 09-05-2020 03:05 PM

Reece Fountain released is a mild surprise.

YDFL Commish 09-05-2020 03:11 PM

My count says we are down to 52. Either Turay gets activated or the Colts will be picking a waived player from another team.

At the beginning of the day, I think the Colts roster was at 77.

I have seen 15 reported cuts so far so that puts the number at 62.

Still more to go - although there are some obvious choices - for example, the Colts are not keeping 4 QBs on the roster.

Damn, it my math skills got me again!

No, not keeping 4 QB's. But, with Covid situation I would not be against keep 3 and stashing 1 as one of the protected PS players. I also might look to stash McLaughlin as one the protected players on the PS.

AlwaysSunnyinIndy 09-05-2020 04:10 PM

DT Taylor Stallworth makes the team.

Congrats to my client Taylor Stallworth on making the Colts roster. Talented young D-tackle spent the last two years with the Saints and signed with Indy at the start of training camp.

Yep, that means adios Chad Kelly.

Remember I said mild surprise. I knew that it was a fight between him and Patmon for WR 5 and that Dulin would beat either of them out for WR 6, because he's so valuable on ST.

Dam8610 09-05-2020 05:55 PM

Is there anyone on the cut lists anyone else is interested in? I'd like to see the Colts grab OT Prince Tega Wanogho from the Eagles. Rookie OT who could be a backup and could have future LT potential.

I think the Colts will do something with the TE position. Since they expect Burton to miss a few weeks, place him on short term IR and find an able body to fill in. Either go with Hale, or Ross or some other TE that they liked out of the 2020 draft that has now been cut

I don’t know. Funny you say that bc I just watched the SEC champ game again and noticed his low kicks. Either he adjusted it or the Colts don’t see it as an issue since it was a close race. I know he turned it up at the end there and was making a lot of his kicks.

Practice squad is my guess along with Windsor. Might take some more time that was a nasty injury last year.

Racehorse 09-06-2020 09:31 AM

I am hoping Marcus Johnson gets a shot somewhere. He can play in this league and was a good one for us last year.

Discflinger 09-06-2020 12:52 PM

Looks like we picked up OG Meyers from the Ratbirds and our very own DT TY Mcgill from the Seahawks.

The Colts claimed 2020 UDFA TE Noah Togiai off waivers from Philadelphia. Went to college at Oregon State.

Given the amount the Eagles had to pay Togiai to . . . . sign him as an UDFA ($100k guaranteed), clearly others NFL teams . . . . were interested.

Eagles apparently thought TE Noah Togiai would clear waivers and they could sign him to their practice squad. Will now have to find another TE.

I think you stumbled upon an old article from 5 years ago.

On Sept 6, 2015, the Colts claimed T.Y. McGill (DT) and Robert Myers (G) off waivers.

TY McGill is available again - he was briefly practicing with the Eagles before he was released a few days ago.

AlwaysSunnyinIndy 09-07-2020 05:59 PM

The Colts made another waiver claim today. Picked up 325 lb DT Eli Ankou from the Cleveland Browns. Eli should be familiar with the AFC South - he has previously played for both Houston and Jacksonville.

We have claimed DT Eli Ankou off waivers (from Cleveland) and placed TE Trey Burton on IR.

Here is the post where I said Johnson can play. Yes, I went C&O on you all, but I figured some clown would say I never said it.
