Do the Colts have hope, after DOMINATING the Dolphins?(Podcast)

Do the Colts have hope, after DOMINATING the Dolphins?

Will the win in week 4 of the NFL 2021 season help Indy turn the corner, and start stringing together wins?

D'Qwell Jackson & I discuss!

Thanks for everyone's support!

I think that the Colts had hope before dominating the Dolphins ...... the win was desperately needed because of their 0-3 start to the season, but the Colts going right down to the wire against the Rams, coupled with Carson Wentz' lack of mobility (due to ankle injuries) against the Titans told me that they were not nearly as bad as their 0-3 record might suggest.

They aren't but that shit start makes anything meaningful for the season doubtful, they are not good enough to play with the best, even with home-field advantage, let alone without.

They did what they were supposed to do. Although I think the score disparity should have been larger. Can they win against good teams though? Can they protect Wentz long enough for him to make reasonable decisions. Can they get to the passer when the other team has a decent line. Dolphins are a mess, Colts are less of one.

A team just has to be healthy and get hot at the end of the regular season.

This will be the issue that limits the team late in the year. I expect most of their issues to improve as the year progresses. Not this one. I expect some flashes here and there, but it will again limit them.

The team will probably win against the average/poor teams from here on, but can only beat the better teams if we get our injured guys back.

The games at Ravens, at 49ers, at Bills, vs Bucs, at Cards are probable losses without a fully healthy squad.

This is a great point! Look at all the teams in the history of the NFL that got off to bad starts.... Looked like they were going nowhere.... Got healthy...got good... Got hot at right time. The two Giants teams come to mind... They got off to very slow starts. Both times ended up in the Super Bowl beating the Patriots.... Many great examples... The Bucs last year started slow..

I liked using the Giants as example because they beat the Patriots.... I hate that team!

It is fine to have hope, but starting 0-3 teams have a poor history in the NFL, this team is still a mess and will be for a few more weeks even if things go well. I am not holding my breath.

As long as you haven’t already played yourself out of a playoff spot.
