Is there now a need at DB or do we have plenty of of proven CBs?

Simple question

Ballard blew this one

You claimed he did not try to re-sign, he did.

Is there a need? Maybe at nickle CB. That need ranks lower than at least the following:

1) DE
2) DT
3) OLB
4) MLB
5) RT
6) OG
7) RB

In other words, it's not a priority, but something that could be addressed.

We're thin at CB but we can survive w/Wilson, Desir, and Hairston as the top 3 CBs. Especially if Hooker can stay healthy.

Melvin was a good player but as much as I think Ballard is too stingy with the cap I don't blame him for not wanting to pay $10M/year. His age and lack of sustained production work against him.

Explain Hankins...

Sure am glad you are not the gm of this team. Ballard has a plan and is sticking to it. The fact that he makes moves within this plan that most of us find confusing either means he knows a hell of a lot more than us casual fans or he is a stone cold idiot like Grigson. I'm hoping for the first

I agree that he believes he has the best plan and is sticking to it, but that in itself doesn’t make it right. And there are more alternatives to that than him being an idiot of Grigsons magnitude.

But for the record I agree with passing on Melvin for CB1 money.

so your arguement of "hankins and melvin" has been trimmed down to just "explain hankins"
