In a corresponding move, they signed DT Caraun Reid. Reid has previously worn the Horseshoe for an 8 month period back in 2017 - 2018. He was with the team for 2018 training camp before being waived on the final cutdown day.

Signed a reserve/future contract. Kind of guy Ballard loves physically. Played at Troy so there is that. Patriots jumped 11 positions to take him in 2017 in the third round. Had blood clots in lung and lost entire first year. Patriots cut him, Jets picked him up cut him and we picked him up. If he is ok from a lung standpoint (so far so good) he has long arms, quick feet and is athletic. It's a long shot but I'm hoping that with coaching he could be something special.

So Jegs Jegede got hurt and is out for the season. We signed Caraun Reid, a DT, to fill his spot. Reid has been with us before and was also on the Cowboys. So he fits what we want to do. Interesting thing is per PFF, Reid was one of the most disruptive DT’s at the end of last season. He was 5 of the top 5 behind Donald, Jarret, Poona Ford (a guy I wish we drafted two years ago), and Damon Harrison. So Reid bears watching in camp.
