I would like to see Freeney get another SB. And watching the Pats lose big games is almost as good as the Colts winning.

I voted New England, but I would rather see the Falcons win.

I want the Falcons to defeat the Cheatriots, but I think that New England wins...easily.

Part of the reason why the Colts did not win the 2009 season Super Bowl against the Saints was the fact that Freeney was essentially playing on one and-a-half legs, due to the severe injury that he sustained in the waning minutes of the AFC Championship game against the Jets 2 weeks prior. Even still, Freeney managed to get a solo sack of Drew Brees in the 2nd quarter, which forced the Saints to settle for a field goal instead of a possible touchdown.

This time, Freeney will have two healthy legs ...... and Tom Brady may be in trouble.

Freeneys leg stiffening up during half time is one of the biggest reasons we lost that game.

That was the biggest reason, but also thrown in a huge Pierre Garcon dropped pass and Hank Baskett fucking up an onside kick. That super bowl still stings, should have whipped their ass.

This reminds me of those mid- to late-2000's years when the Colts simply had too many weapons for Belichick to scheme against. Maybe if the Pats still had Collins and Jones, but they can't match up against the Falcons and don't have enough of a pass rush to disrupt Ryan.

That, and Robert Mathis going AWOL in the 2nd half...and the coaches playing Jennings 10 yards off every play...and the Garçon drop...and the fumbled onside kick by Baskett...

I think the Pats will win, although this week, Atlanta is my second favorite team.

I voted Falcons but I cannot decide if I want to watch this game or not! If Pats are winning I will probably turn it off but kick myself for not watching if they get their butts kicked!

What does each team need to do to win here?

I think the Pats will rely heavily on the run and short passing game. The Falcons will come hard at Brady. They didn't have a ton of sacks this year, but they tied for third in QB hurries with 122. Without Gronk I expect NE to use Blount and Lewis and high percentage passes to keep the ATL offense off the field and to wear out the defense.

If the Falcons can strike quickly and get a lead I could see them pulling away, NE can't win a shootout with them. But the Pats allowed the fewest points all season. If anyone can hang back in coverage and smother this ATL offense it's probably them. If the ATL offense struggles early I think it'll go bad fast for them. NE will capitalize on mistakes.

Really this feels a lot like a Colts/Pats game from the mid 00s.

The Pats had the red carpet rolled out to the super bowl, Texans at home (joke) then the Steelers without Bell (another joke) the only elite QB that defense played all year was Russel Wilson and he torched them. This is a good point. They had a very easy schedule this year. They have not faced an offense nearly as good as the Falcons.
