I passed on Jordan Love at 34 and was surprised that he was still available at 44.
34 Neville Gallimore, DL Oklahoma 44 Jordan Love, QB Utah State 75 Chase Claypool, WR Notre Dame 122 Ezra Cleveland, OT Boise State 160 Josiah Scott, CB Michigan State 193 Binjimin Victor, WR Ohio State 197 Lavert Hill, CB Michigan |
I like the way our Defense is looking so went Offense with 1st 4 picks
34 Laviska Shenault Jr. WR Colorado 44 Jalen Reagor WR TCU 75 Jalen Hurts QB Oklahoma 122 Thaddeus Moss TE LSU 160 Anfernee Jennings EDGE Alabama 193 Tanner Muse S Clemson 197 Michael Divinity Jr. LB LSU |
34. Laviska Shenault, Jr., WR, Colorado
44. Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State 75. Jordan Love, QB, Utah State 122. K.J. Hill, WR, OSU 160. Harrison Bryant, TE, Florida Atlantic 193. Tanner Muse, S, Clemson 197. Daulton Keene, TE, Virginia Tech QB of the future, 2x big bodies wide receivers, 2x tight ends depth, a potential left OT replacement for Castonzo / right OG starter as s rookie and safety depth. I had no intention of going slmost all offense but it is what th ed board brought. No way that Love drops that far but a fun exercise. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
34. A.J. Epenesa
44. Ross Blacklock 75. Michael Pittman Jr. 122. Thaddeus Moss Went BPA, liked the thought of a D-line that’s deep and didn’t wanna reach on WR, can’t see Pittman being there this late in real life though. 4 rounds is all in good for I’d just be drafting names after that. Seems like there could be good value at that first pick interested to see if Ballard reaches for WR or waits until the next 2nd round pick |
34. Neville Gallimore DL. Oklahoma
Our defensive line could be downright nasty adding another guy like Gallimore to the rotation. 44. Jordon Love QB Utah St. If he is still available this late I think you take him. 75. Chase Claypool WR. Notre Dame Big target for Rivers has size and explosiveness. He is a very good run blocker as well. 122. Thaddeus Moss. TE. LSU Missed a lot of playing time do to transfer and foot surgery. Still played in 2019 on a stacked team. He could be special and a good pick this late. 160. Michael Owenu IOL Michigan Big and powerful at 6'3 350lbs. He plays with a mean streak.very good when he gets to second level handling linebackers. Mobility and foot speed are questionable. 193. Kendall Coleman Edge Syracuse A smart and crafty Linebacker that uses good technique. 197. Tanner Muse S Clemson A solid pick if he is still available |
34 Kristian Fulton, CB
LSU 44 Jordan Love, QB Utah State 75 Michael Pittman Jr., WR USC 122 K.J. Hill, WR Ohio State 160 Kyle Murphy, IOL Rhode Island 193 Jonathan Garvin, EDGE Miami 197 Justin Herron, OT Wake Forest Don’t like coming out of 2nd round without addressing the need at WR, but couldn’t pass on Fulton at 34 or Love at 44. |
Some non-QB drafts
It might be a little high for an OT considering he will sit on the bench likely. But hard to poass up Jones. Two WR's that can YAC it up and score. Elliot is one of the most underrated DT's in the draft. And Stone has fantastic instrincts and will be deadly in a dime package. Bryant has a lot of potential as a TE and was great at the combine. Quote:
A little different here. Two versatile WR's that are pure offensive weapons and can line up at just about any position: X, slot, RB, even wildcat QB. They should give Reich and Sirianni a lot of flexibility in play-calling and design. Diggs is kinda a younger version of Desirre and should fit right in this defense. Robinson is a refined all around DE. Driscoll is one of the most athletic tackles in the draft and is a great developmental candidate. Brooks is a crazy hitting all over the place safety but isn't the best in coverage, but he will blow plays up in the run and blitz. Taumoepeau is a good route running TE and a decent blocker. Quote:

Don’t know how it went for y’all but seems like that first pick seems to have a lot of value at position other than WR gonna be a tough choice there if it plays out like that

Second train of thought is many receivers and OTs will be taken in the first (5 or 6) and it will drive the other talent down the board. |
34 D'Andre Swift RB Georgia

Traded back a lot, loaded up the WR room and got who I think will be the best RB in draft.

That was fun. Here are my picks:

Dobbins, RB Ohio State 44 Tee Higgins, WR Clemson 75 Jacob Eason, QB Washington 122 Devin Asiasi, TE UCLA 160 Julian Blackmon, S Utah 193 Tyler Clark, IDL Georgia 197 Tyrie Cleveland, WR Florida I realize that we don't need a RB and the likelihood of us taking one that early is slim to none, but Dobbins stood out so much I couldn't help but draft him. |

Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 9 (CLE): Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon (A+) Round 2 Pick 27 (SEA): Patrick Queen, ILB, LSU (A+) Round 3 Pick 3 (DET): Michael Pittman Jr., WR, USC (A) Round 3 Pick 10 (CLE): Hunter Bryant, TE, Washington (A+) Round 3 Pick 11: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU (A) Round 3 Pick 31 (DEN): Chase Claypool, WR/TE, Notre Dame (A+) Round 3 Pick 35 (NYG): Khalid Kareem, DE/OLB, Notre Dame (A+) Round 4 Pick 7 (CAR): Jack Driscoll, OT, Auburn (A+) Round 4 Pick 16: Amik Robertson, CB, Louisiana Tech (A+) Round 5 Pick 8 (MIA): Rashard Lawrence, DT, LSU (A+) Round 5 Pick 18 (DAL): Brian Cole II, FS/SS, Miss. Herbert's play style fits today's NFL and I can see him developing into a franchise QB if he has time to sit and learn. Getting a LB who will likely go top 25 in the actual draft at 57 is a steal. I watched film on Michael Pittman, he looks like a WR that would've gone late in round 1 or early in round 2 in recent drafts, and I love his ability to highpoint the ball. If Frank Reich had Hunter Bryant, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Chase Claypool at his disposal, he would be salivating at the mismatch opportunities available to him on a weekly basis. Khalid Kareem fits what the Colts want in players off the field and DL on the field to a T. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he actually ends up a Colt. Driscoll is a developmental LT who could provide value as a backup or potentially start at RT and allow Braden Smith to kick inside to RG. Amik Robertson is a very similar player to Kenny Moore and would offer a similar skillset. Rashard Lawrence is considered by many to be a top 50-100 player in this class and flashes some pass rush ability. Getting him in round 5 is a steal. Everyone else was chosen mostly for their special teams ability, developmental traits, or both. |
The more research I do, thanks to the free time I’d take Pittman or peoples-jones over shenault or Higgins they seem like better catch in traffic guys with big bodies that aren’t afraid of contact or only wanna run deep routes like the other 2
|
I don't think there is any chance that Herbert or Love last until the 2nd round. None.

QB's were being taken too high for me in this mock draft - Hurts and Fromm were drafted way too early. I would have picked a DL with the first pick but Gallimore and others were already gone so I went BPA of the non-WR's. Flipped Pick 34 for Picks 55 and 60.
Your score is: 44745 (GRADE: A+) Your Picks: Round 2 Pick 12: Grant Delpit, FS/SS, LSU (A+) Round 2 Pick 23 (BALT): Brandon Aiyuk, WR, Arizona St. (A+) Round 2 Pick 28 (BALT): Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (A+) Round 3 Pick 21 (DET): Hunter Bryant, TE, Washington (A+) Round 3 Pick 28 (BALT): Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, LSU (A+) Round 3 Pick 42 (BALT): Jack Driscoll, OT, Auburn (A+) Round 4 Pick 3 (DET): Jeremy Chinn, FS/SS, S. A lot of love for Love, but I'd take Eason.
Bigger body and less mistakes. Very trainable. |

Then you have to figure out what you are going to do with your 3rd string QB. Carry 3 or risk hiding him on the practice squad. I think there is less than a 1% chance they get rid of JB. He is on the last yr of his contract, costs to much for anyone to want to trade for him and he can win a game or two if Rivers gets dinged up. |

Option 1: They fell in love with Jordan Love or Jacob Eason and they'll either trade up for their guy or stay put and get him. Option 2: They have a Day 3 guy that they like and has developmental traits that they think could add up to a starting QB under the right conditions. For me in this draft, here's what I see at QB: Tier 1 Joe Burrow Tua Tagavailoa Tier 2 Justin Herbert Jordan Love Jacob Eason Anthony Gordon Tier 3 Jalen Hurts Jake Fromm Tier 4 Everyone else That is why I'd prefer Option 2, because IMO there's one guy in Tier 2 that's universally seen as a Day 3 guy. I'd draft Anthony Gordon in round 5 or 6, and be confident that I'm getting a developmental guy at a similar level as if I draft a guy in round 2. That level of investment would not prohibit future investment in a QB, either. |

It is just too important of a position for success in the league. Being able to guarantee development time to a QB is just too valuable. |
Went for DL...
34 Neville Gallimore, IDL, Oklahoma 44 Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU 75 Prince Tega Wanogho, OT, Auburn 122 K.J. Hill, WR, Ohio State 160 Gabriel Davis, WR, UCF 193 Lamar Jackson, CB, Nebraska 197 Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR, Liberty |
Since the draft is tomorrow thought I'd give this another run. I don't see there's anyway Love is there at 34 or Dobbins at 44, but it'd be great if they were!!

Dobbins, RB Ohio State 75 Chase Claypool, WR Notre Dame 122 Hunter Bryant, TE Washington 160 Collin Johnson, WR Texas 193 Raequan Williams, IDL Michigan State 197 Madre Harper, CB Southern Illinois And here is my draft from the 2nd linked simulator. One spot must be an Olineman. And I disagree about MOST teams. I think less than half will carry a 3rd QB. We did with Kelly at the end of the yr. |
Quote:
Gordon and Eason are not tier 2 with the Colts Kelly is better than Gordon and Eason is not anywhere close to tier 2. He is the mix between Jeff George and Ryan Leaf |
