Glad to see this, now he’s sayin he’s playing 2 more years
|
Great news. Just need a damn QB now.
|
Excellent news and he is well worth the money.
|
Awesome news! This deal should make Castonzo somewhere between the 4th to 6th top paid OT in the league. That is a fair evaluation IMO.
Anybody know where this leaves us from a cap standpoint? I would like to lock up Kelly and Mack as well. |

The Colts will still have plenty of cap space to work with. Prior to signing Castonzo, the Colts had about $81MM in cap space. |

Castonzo said he and the rest and the Oline are "pumped" to get the gang back together next year. "I'd be remiss if I didn't say the opportunity to play next to Quenton Nelson wasn't one of the reasons I wanted to come back and keep playing." |

Colts' Castonzo to Match Donations to Free Lunch Giveaway Program (By Steve Jefferson) https://www.wthr.com/article/colts-c...veaway-program https://www.wthr.com/sites/default/f...?itok=10Vdxjd4 o |
The LT for the Texans, Tunsil is asking for in excess $18 million. IMO he's no where near Castanzo's level.

Top-10 / Top-15 but not top 5. He is very good and I am glad he is back for at least 2 more years. But he is not a Joe Thomas type top LT every year. That said, my hope is that out 2nd round picks this year would still be WR and OT with as TE in the 3rd round. Long term QB can be gotten next season after signing a vet to a 1-year deal in 2021 (Maj Rivers if he performs well this year which I suspect he will.) DT depth, O-Line depth, Safety depth and WR depth round out my wish list for the draft. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Rivers was top five last year with about 2.2 I think. |

It was painful to watch. |

But this time it was a QB problem. We don't have the best WR's but the scheme was getting guys open. JB just wouldn't pull the trigger. Rivers will do that, but we will have more interceptions also. We improve our WR's we should see a better offense with Rivers. This will also improve the defense because they should get more rest in between series. The biggest mistake I think of that whole Grigson/Pagano era was letting Tom Telesco go. He should have been the GM instead of Grigson. I don't understand why they didn't promote him, Grigson was a rookie GM also with half the track record and Tom had a ton of experience under one of the best GM's in the game. Since then he has had a probowler or all pro in every draft he has done except one. I think he was the brains behind that 2012 draft. BC after that Grigson just went straight to shit. |

I think Bill O'Brien is worse at negotiating contracts vs making trades. Reportedly $40 Million due at signing. $22 Million AAV. And Tunsil hits free agency again before the age of 30. Tunsil didn't use an agent - he negotiated directly with Bill O'Brien (although Tunsil did have some help from advisors) https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1253759277237501953 Quote:

BOB is killing that franchise and I'm loving it.

After giving up that much capital to get him, they pretty much HAD to give him whatever he wanted. |
What doe Nelson get?
