2020 QB prospects
I thought this needed its own thread so it doesn't get lost in the original threads.
I don't watch much college football but I know a few of you do and have some real knowledge. The kid from LSU looks good....very good against Alabama Anyway you smart guys give us the take |
My Top 8 are as follows:
Tua Tagovailoa Alabama 6'1" 218 Joe Burrow LSU 6'4" 216 Jalen Hurts Oklahoma 6'2" 210 Jacob Eason Washington 6'6" 228 Justin Herbert Oregon 6'6" 225 Jordan Love Utah State 6'4" 220 Jake Fromm Georgia 6'2" 220 Sam Ehlinger Texas 6'3" 235 Haven't decided just yet on my final ranks  |
As much as I thought that Lamar would be a bust...... His skill set would be amazing with Reich
Who is like him? |

Imagine 3-4 QB's go fairly early so might require a trade up. I do like this class better than last year. The WR's and RB's are also better this year. |

I am digging this Burrows kid...... he wont be there either |
I like Burrows too. Reminds me of Jim Harbaugh. Not the best talent, but a HUGE heart for the game.
|
Coming in Joe Burrow was 205/260 for 78.8% 2805 yds, 30 TD, 4 INT, 350.6 YPG against good competition. Kid could be 1st QB chosen. To bad Tua playing on sore ankle he is real deal too.
|
Just finished watching the LSU/Bama game. Burrow was a beast. Both he and Tua are going to be fine QB's in the NFL in my opinion. Tua throws a great deep ball. He was hampered with an ankle injury and still played his ass off. Don't think we have a chance at either one though because both will be top 10 draft picks.
If the Colts have a chance, I would take Burrow or Tua over the rest of QB's you listed Smitty. Not that sold on Herby. |

If you are watching Iowa State vs Oklahoma you can check out Hurts. Also like Cee Dee Lamb the WR from OU

Love Burrows- kid is a killer, steps on the throat and stabs you in the gut guy- LOVE IT, and the dude is tough as all fuck.
Hurts- shit, that dude is playing so balls out with fury based on how things played out at Alabama- he is an absolute stud as well. Both those guys are top 10 IMO. After that, I like some of those other guys, but not so much that I try to jump up to get them by sacrificing other areas. |
Colts brass love Brissett, doubt they try to draft his replacement this year.

If by some chance let's say you were right then I dont know if I want Ballard as a GM because it's obvious that JB is not the type of QB that will get you next level. And let's say all things lined up and JB had a Flacco season and Colts win 1 Superbowl? Irsay wants to win multiple SuperBowls. Ballard knows he cant win multiple with JB. Reich has to know as well. So yes they are looking at a QB in next draft. |
Might be looking, won’t draft one this year, maybe next

Why do people think they are just going to be satisfied with JB? |
Depending on who is available and possible trading partners I would consider moving up a bit for a QB. We have the Redskins 2nd and the Jets 2nd sixth-round selection.
Washington traded a second-round selection and a 2019 second-round selection to Indianapolis in exchange for a 2019 first-round selection The New York Jets traded their 2nd sixth-round selection to Indianapolis in exchange for cornerback Nate Hairston Not sure what this will bring: Miami traded an undisclosed 2020 NFL Draft pick to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for an undisclosed conditional 2020 NFL Draft pick and center/guard Evan Boehm |
Is JB signed through next season? Or just this one

Jacoby Brissett signed a 2 year, $30,000,000 contract with the Indianapolis Colts, including a $13,000,000 signing bonus, $20,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $15,000,000. |

Noe of that is gonna happen though |

Haven't seen more than one game of his this season, but in past seasons, I like the Texas QB Ehlinger's compete. He's a scrapper with some talent. Reminds me of Harbaugh.

I would take Herbert if he dropped down within range of us moving up.

Also, I don't have a good reason for saying it right now and I could entirely change my mind after watching him, but something about Tua makes me think he'll bust. Part of it I think is that too many of his big plays are him standing in a clean pocket for 5+ seconds to hit a deep ball for a big play or a score. He's not likely to have that luxury in the NFL, and he may not respond well to that. |

Personally I like Burrow

Oh I’m not sold on Tua either. |

Has flashes of greatness then nothing. Perhaps with coaching ? |

Tua got fucked up today, may be gone for the season. Reports are that he has a dislocated hip. |
