Eberflus

Browns have requested to interview him for their HC position.

I hope we don't lose him after only 1 year.

rcubed 12-31-2018 01:22 PM

yeah just read that. It would be a shame if we lose him so quickly.

Brylok 12-31-2018 01:28 PM

I've been fearing this for weeks. I hope he stays with us

Hopefully they will go for an Offensive mind with Mayfield at QB. They should have learned by now they haven't fared well with Defensive coaches.

falloutboy14 12-31-2018 01:56 PM

He can't interview until we lose right? Hopefully we keep winning and they pick someone else.

if we keep winning he will most likely get calls from other teams as well.

Yeah but there are a bunch of HC jobs open now, so that increases the chances that we may lose him to another team.

Chromeburn 12-31-2018 02:14 PM

That's crazy, he has been a DC for one year. Some of these teams are so desperate.

Why I said Hopefully... as in I'm hoping lol
They should go after that great guy in New England that has all that integrity.

The Colts hired Chuck Pagano after being Baltimore's DC for one year.

Look how that turned out. I think they will go with Greg Williams though.

Packers are chasing the snake

FatDT 12-31-2018 02:41 PM

Why would the Browns bother with Eberflus when they have Gregg Williams already?

I really think he lacks character. The Colts snub confirmed it for me. I was hoping it was youth, but it isn't. That has been his problem since Denver. Players don't like him. Good at X's and O's, bad at leading people.

Luck4Reich 12-31-2018 02:51 PM

Wherever McDaniels goes I will be rooting for his ass to fail hard again! I'm sure he will.

HoosierinFL 12-31-2018 03:09 PM

Everyone assumes that Kraft and Bellichick tempted him with the promise of being the next HC in New Emgland. If he turns around and goes to Green Bay, that will be proven wrong. It will mean it was nothing but an attempt to screw the Colts.

Which I'm fine with because it backfired on them if that is the case. It prevented us from looking elsewhere and went with Reich. Although I think we would have been ok with Nagy also.

Racehorse 12-31-2018 03:21 PM

Guys, don't worry if we lose Eberflus. After all, coaches do not matter.

There is a cautionary tale

There are lots of smart young coaches out there who will love to work for the colts

true, but I would like to have some continuity going forward and build something that will last for a while. not saying he has to be DC forever, but maybe a couple years then someone else takes over if he moves on.

yep, I believe we dodged a bullet and got a great coach for this team. I would guess we didnt make the post season under that douche.

Oldcolt 12-31-2018 04:51 PM

If he gets offered Cleveland it is hard seeing him say no. That and he would be a great hire for them. I hope he is the first of many who leave. I hope Reich's coaching line is the deepest in the NFL and we are constantly raided for head coaches by other teams. That would be a great problem to have.

Cleveland also requested to interview the Colt's OC Nick Sirianni as well.

Taking a guy from his first OC job to running a team is really chancy.

Cleveland seems on the upward trend. But until they show some consistency, I will see it as a coach killer.

Some of these fires I agree with. Packers, Arizona, Bucs. Running old systems or even 90's offensive systems and not keeping pace with the league. But also some of these teams are perpetually at the bottom for a reason. Impatience by not allowing a coach to establish his system and also bad drafting.

And oddly enough, Belicheat trading Brisett to the Colts was a "screw you" to Kraft during the whole Kraft/Brady vs Belicheat/Garoppolo affair. It will be glorious when that franchise collapses in a year or two
/Probably "wrong forum"

seems too young and inexperienced though. maybe be just casting a wide net for interviews. also may be trying to emulate sean mcvay hire.

Maniac 12-31-2018 07:28 PM

On a side note, Peyton Manning is pushing for the Browns to hire Adam Gase from various reports out there. If Gase comes in, that likely means that Jarvis Landry will be traded since Gase and Landry don't get along. That would be a player worth exploring to put him opposite TY.

Landry would be a very nice pickup. All for Gase to the Browns.

I saw that the Bungles are interested in McDickface as well. I'm really surprised after his complete failure in Den and what he did to us that any team would actually consider him.

I'm surprised the Packers would consider him but it always seemed the Bengals have never met a low character individual they didn't like.

Perfect fit. That organization has long employed lowlifes both on and off the field. He can go there to flame out repeatedly and have job security based on his “credentials.”

As far as I am concerned there is no wrong forum to bag on the Cheats.
