Injury updates for Sunday

Mariotta and Ebron practiced today. Ebron was in a red shirt so I think that means he's still in the protocol but per Stephen Holder it's a good sign he is probable for Sunday. Geathers didn't practice but was seen at the facility. Kelly was nowhere to be seen and Holder is speculating not looking good for Sunday.
Here's the official report:

Damn...Having Ebron back would be nice, but if I had to choose between him and Kelly, I would take the Center of the Universe.

And I am an Eric Ebron fan, too.

No one smart can argue with that.

Hold your horses

I would take Ebron in this game. Without Kelly the line isn't dominate, but it is serviceable. Without Ebron our only real mismatch and playmaker is TY who they can just double. It then comes down to Inman, Pascal, Rodgers, and some rookies in essentially a playoff game. Rodgers just had a great game, but I want to see some consistency from him. The passing game and running game both open up more with another playmaker running routes out there.

My horses are fine. You might look to see who said that no one smart could argue with that would be butter.

I only said that Dam was not smart, lol. No one smart could argue with that.

Well, looks like Kelly and Fountain are definitely out.

I respectfully disagree. Having Kelly in there improves the running game significantly. Rain is forecast for Sunday evening. Their top DT is out.

If/when they run the ball down the middle and dominate the game that way, it will open up the passing game to TY, Hines, and a cast of thousands.

However, I understand that others see it differently. And as I said, I love Ebron. Truthfully, I want them both to play. Plus, my wanting one or the other in has zero affect on what happens.

Marriota still "questionable".
Orakpo ruled out.

I agree with this rationale. It becomes a lot more difficult to double Hilton if LBs and safeties have to hold for a split second longer vs the run.

Mariotta will play. Probably won't finish the game.

Pez 12-29-2018 09:17 AM

Wonder what that means for Ryan grant... they just benched him?

does he ever finish a game?

What is it with Titans QB's? McNair used to be the same way, every game he would get hurt.

People used to always talk about how tough McNair was with how he played hurt. What about the guy that doesn’t get hurt? It is an embarrassment that manning had to share an mvp with that dude

Yes, but he was a "WARRIOR". Every time I would hear that term I would cringe.

Possibly one of the most misused terms in sports.

I would probably agree with you most times but this particular instance I would pick Ebron. What I'm thinking is with Casey and Orakapo out the line will not be under as much pressure, although the Titans will likely have to blitz to generate pressure.

The Titans have a very good secondary and they have been playing well. TY burned Jackson last game, they likely will not make the same mistake twice. They will double TY and maybe move Jackson to the hottest receiver. Ebron is a matchup problem, too fast for the LB's and too big for the secondary. Even with two linemen out the Titans will defend the run game well, that is their LB's strength. With that second mismatch weapon out there and Andrew trying to get him isolated against a LB it will help the passing game immensely. Especially the short passing game. Ebron had a big game against them do not forget. I think without him their secondary matches up very well with our receivers.

Finally, it isn't just Kelly we miss, I think we would need Doyle and Glowinski as well. This will be a tougher game that we think. Injuries favor us, but moving the game to Sunday night didn't help. That crowd will be drunk and riled up after all day tailgating. The Titans will have a chip on their shoulder because getting beat by Andrew ten times, although those teams and this Titan team are very different. Vrable learned from Belichick and he will not do the same things they did last time. I think we will win but it will be tight.

They finally are tired of his useless ass taking up one of the 11 spots on the starting Offense and want someone who is productive.

And that would be pretty much ANY WR on the roster except him.

When does Kelly's injuries start to become worrisome ??

They don't imo, because they are usually short term week to week injuries that appear to have no commonality.

I mean what has it been, concussion, knee, foot and neck?

After Sunday, and through three full seasons, Kelly has missed 13 of a potential 48 games (or 27% of the games) thus far in his career - and 40% of the games in the last two seasons. You can judge for yourself whether you consider this to be a significant concern.

As far as the nature of his injury history is concerned, here's a link which documents most or all of his injuries:

I would start looking for a quality backup for him. Draft or FA. He does well when out there, just seems to get nicked up during the season. Doesn’t seem like a consistent same injury every time. I would be more worried then. I would still resign him, but I would try to find a backup to groom.

I read somewhere that Glowinski is expected to start tomorrow

That would be nice. Haeg is an adequate fill-in for multiple positions and I love his versatility. But he isn't dominating anyone at guard.

I was just saying, hold on, Dam was not the only person here to take on a stupid argument.

That would be an area I would look to upgrade this off-season if I were Ballard.

Got one.

Boehm has been solid at OC in relief this season. Not dominating but solid.

Capital needs to be spent on WR and defense this off-season with perhaps one mid/low round pick on O-line depth. Nothing high.

Walk Worthy,

Hello playoffs.

FatDT 12-30-2018 02:06 PM

If we can’t make Jane Crapbert look like the failed QB he is then we don’t deserve to make the playoffs, much less win the South.
