Frank Reich was the Jenga piece in Philly

The Eagles' problems this year are well-known. Pederson's offense is struggling despite having Wentz back and healthy.

But we now see that John DeFilippo, the QB coach for Philly that got so much positive press for coaching up Wentz and Foles, was just fired as OC of the Vikings:

I'm not really one to gush over front office or coaching staff but I'm very glad to have Reich as the Colts HC.

It's weird that 13 games in and he's far and away the best coach we've had since Dungy.

Josh McDaniels' eyes are too close together.

He's also a bitch-ass visor-wearing bootlicking piece of shit.

I like what I'm seeing, but don't judge these things too quickly. At this stage, Jim Caldwell had yet to lose a game with the Colts.

Difference is he took a already established team and turned it to shit. Reich is turning shit around into good.

To keep some perspective, there were only two others. Jim Caldwell and Chuck Pagano are hardly a mountain to climb.

However I LOVE having Reich on the sideline. Energy. Organization. Balls. All good things.

Hindsight is 20/20. Hopefully Reich trends upwards and not downwards over the next several years.

There was Bruce Arians as well. He was probably the best coach here since Dungy even if it was only for a season, or most of it.

But I like Reich better than Arians. His vertical passing game mindset that got stuck in the system here held back Luck and contributed to his injury plagued career.

just using the eye test:

caldwell and pagano looked perpetually confused.

reich gives the sense that he knows what he is doing.

The Steelers haven’t won shit since they canned Arians. Rapistberger is the perfect QB for his system. Big, rugged, can take a hit and throws a decent deep ball.

The Vikings HC didn't know what he was gettting?? He like to pound the ball. Did he see Philly win the Super Bowl?

You don't hire Picasso and tell him to solve algebra problems. You let him create.

He had the good sense not to screw with something that worked

And he had Manning who was basically the coach of the offense after running the system for a decade. He basically had to do nothing for that unit except leave it alone.

And even his mistakes seem like they were thought out.

You, Sir, are obviously a gentleman and a scholar. My hat's off to you.

Wild, I hadn't really thought about this aspect. 5-3 in the playoffs under Arians with:
1 SB win
1 AFC title
2 WC losses
1 missed playoffs entirely
55-25 regular season (.687)
5-3 playoffs (.625)

Since:
2 first round playoff losses
1 AFC championship loss
48-32 regular season (.600)
3-4 playoffs (.428)

While I might not fully agree that they haven't won sh**, they haven't performed as well... this was also a time of transition for their defense with Polamalu leaving, and a year off for James Harrison...
